jhp fASHION.
For my first job after graduation I got hired at JHP Fashion, it's a company that exists out of two physicals stores and a webshop. The company was using the same website for years without any updates design wise, I got hired to redesign the website so it's more modern and user friendly. Once that was done I was responsible to report bugs, keep the website up-to-date, find ways to improve CRO.

Good to know is that most of the users (about 80%) visit the website by using their smartphone and that the website would turnout as PWA so it behaves like an app.
I believe that a website should work properly on any device but since websites nowadays are created responsive and mobile first I decided to spend attention to it's mobile version. From mobile version I went to desktop and tried to make sure this viewport looks proper too, on any device it must be clear right away that the current website is JHP Fashion.
The Figma design file was holy, this was designed by external company Itonomy who created Storyblok. The design is made by preferences of my supervisor and designers from Itonomy, some hours were spent to get the design the way it is. I tried to use my knowledge as a UI/UX designer and designed the missing pages, communication with my supervisor was key during the time. An aspact that made my work hard was the fact that many funcionalities were not working, for this reason I couldn't design the pages the way I had in my mind. Till this day I'm still in contact with the development team of Storyblok, by using Jira I am able to create tickets and describe in the shape of user stories what I want, I also use this to report bugs I see throughout the website.
The website is already live but that doesn't mean I'm done with it, it's a dynamic website meaning that it needs to be maintained constantly. Because it's about clothing, shoes and accessoires there will always be a new collection and since a year has seasons the brands also have clothing for each season. I constantly upload new banners for new arrivals, sales, festive days or the new season. There is also a section for blogposts which I need to create myself. If pictures are needed to create new content I have to request it at the studio department so my colleague(s) can provide me with all the pictures I need. All visuals comes in two, I always have to create a version for mobile and desktop to get the best results for the website.
The company was planning on selling more underwear, they started business relationships with brands that offer their underwear for wholesale. Since we had a lot of underwear in stock we decided to add a link for the underwear page in the menu, as a result underwear sales went up 50%. The next goal is to add a subscription option so the user is able to subscribe and receive a pack of underwear at the end of every month, the user can unsubscribe at any time but we need to think this through first in therms of condition, designs etc.
Another tool is setting up journeys, in this case the company started selling items that can be used to clean your shoes. Now whenever the user put a pair of sneakers in the shopping cart a pop-up will appear with the recommendation to buy a cleaning kit, it’s optional but it’s a good way of showing the new cleaning products and it persuade the user to buy it. Within the first few days people ordered sneakers and a cleaning kit so it worked.
